Coronation Street Spoiler: Helen Flanagan begs to return to Corrie but no one calls: Will Rosie Webster return in time to save the dark mood of Weatherfield?
While Coronation Street is in a gloomy atmosphere due to the Driscolls, behind-the-scenes news about Helen Flanagan suddenly became a bright spot that fans shared widely.
The actress who played Rosie Webster – the eldest daughter of the Webster family with an unrivaled sense of humor – frankly admitted that she really wanted to return to Corrie, but the problem was… no one asked.
In a recent interview, Helen recounted contacting Sally Dynevor, who played her on-screen mother Sally, to confide that she missed Weatherfield and wanted to return to that grey cobblestone street once more.
Helen could not hide her regret when mentioning the comeback period a few years ago, when Rosie was given a lot of comedic roles, juggling with the Webster family and getting involved in a series of ridiculous but extremely entertaining incidents.

After taking a break to give birth, Helen left Corrie with the hope that one day she would return. But as time went on, new storylines kept popping up, from murder to abuse scandals, and the phone remained silent. Metro dug up her statement just as Maggie was confirmed as the new killer, leaving fans wondering: this was clearly the perfect time for a Rosie-like character to return to balance out the darkness that was hanging over the Rovers.

Imagine a fine day, in the middle of a pub full of tension over Maggie’s husband-killing past, when the Rovers doors open and Rosie walks in wearing an outrageous outfit, shouting for a drink because she’s been involved in some romantic drama somewhere. Her ridiculousness and innocence alone is enough to create a completely different atmosphere, reminding viewers that Corrie isn’t all about blood and tears, but also about characters who live as if they… have no idea about the tragedy that surrounds them.
