Coronation Street Spoiler: CorrieDale – When Coronation Street Joins Hands with Emmerdale in a Shocking Collaboration on ITV
After months of teasing, ITV officially confirmed the historic crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale will air in early January 2026.
The event, dubbed “CorrieDale,” marks the first time the two most popular soap opera universes in the UK will intertwine, sharing a common tragedy that has stunned millions of viewers.
The trailer opens with a sunset scene in Weatherfield, where a multi-car crash leaves a trail of smoke and flames.
Shona Platt shouts David’s name amidst the wailing sirens.

Jacob Gallagher and Asha Alahan are trying to pull the injured from the wreckage. On the opposite side, Cain Dingle and Charity Dingle from Emmerdale appear to help – an unexpected handshake between two worlds.
What makes “CorrieDale” special is not just the crossover, but also the sacrifice. Numerous inside sources have revealed that at least two key characters will be leaving. Some speculate it’s Carla Connor, while others suspect James Bailey – who appeared in the teaser with blood on his forehead. And if fans pay close attention, in a fleeting frame, they might see the figure of Gail Platt – who “disappeared” from the previous season – appearing in the clip as a final farewell.

This event is also being touted by the network as “changing the course of both series forever.” With its cinematic camera angles, all-star cast, and the twist that Becky Swain might be the initiator of the tragedy, CorrieDale is predicted to be the biggest crossover episode in British soap opera history. Fans can only hope their beloved characters survive – because in Weatherfield, Christmas is never peaceful.
