Romantic drama continues to rage in Salem as Sarah Horton and Brady Black share a surprisingly sweet moment in the town square.

Amidst the belated Christmas atmosphere, they laugh, reminisce about old times, and then… share a kiss.

A kiss that sent fans into a frenzy and dealt Xander Kiriakis a devastating blow when he witnessed it.

Xander, who was on his way to “becoming a good person” after a series of mistakes, didn’t smash things or yell, only clenched his fists and left.

But then, he appeared at the Kiriakis mansion with an action that surprised everyone: bringing a Christmas gift for Maggie and apologizing to her.

The gift – according to spoilers – was a portrait of Victor Kiriakis, as a way for Xander to remind everyone of their familial bond and respect for the deceased. Maggie was moved, but also reserved. Although she accepted the apology, the audience knew this peace wouldn’t last. In just a few weeks, Xander and Maggie would clash again due to work-related conflicts on Titan – and this is where the real drama begins.

Meanwhile, Brady wasn’t innocent either. The kiss with Sarah might have been a moment of weakness, but it put him in danger, with Kristen still lurking somewhere in Salem. A rumor spread: Kristen would make an appearance at the start of the new year, and the first person she’d seek out would be Brady – to “question” him about the kiss that all of Salem was talking about.
