Coronation Street Spoiler: Carla Connor is kidnapped – the shocking truth about the “enemy who returned from the dead,” Becky Swain.
Carla Connor – the iconic businesswoman of Coronation Street – seemed to have overcome all tragedy.
After a successful kidney transplant and months of stability with Lisa Swain, she finally felt she could breathe again.
But in just the first few episodes of 2026, Carla’s entire life crumbles when Becky Swain – presumed dead – returns to Weatherfield, alive and… preparing for revenge.
Becky didn’t return to apologize.

She appears with a perfect plan, trying to separate Carla from Lisa with fake messages, then suddenly kidnapping Carla in the night. The scene of Carla tied up in a cold room, missing her medication, struggling between life and death, sends chills down the audience’s spine. Meanwhile, Lisa believes her lover is “vacationing in Lanzarote” – completely unaware that she is being held captive nearby.
Becky becomes a symbol of obsession. She doesn’t want to kill Carla – she wants to “teach Carla what it feels like to have everything stolen.” Her chilling lines, like “Now you know what it feels like to lose Lisa,” send shivers down the viewer’s spine. From another perspective, Becky appears to be deranged after such a great loss – she can’t distinguish between love, possessiveness, and revenge.

The episode ends with Carla screaming in the darkness, while Becky calmly watches, saying, “It’s not over yet, Carla. I haven’t gotten Lisa back.” This reappearance makes Becky the most impactful villain Corrie has ever had, setting the stage for a series of haunting tragedies to come.
