Coronation Street Spoiler: Evelyn buries her dream – Jenny’s jealousy explodes, Weatherfield is in turmoil
If viewers thought that this week’s storm only revolved around Becky, Abi or the lawsuit between Theo and Noah, they would be wrong.
Coronation Street still has countless potential dramas, when seemingly “sideline” characters unexpectedly become the center of attention.
After an unexpected accident that left Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) hospitalized, Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) quietly made a decision that shocked everyone: giving up her university dream.
Once eager to challenge herself in her old age, Evelyn now sadly confessed to Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) that “it’s just a game for young people, and I’m too late”.
But in fact, astute viewers can easily see that this decision is not necessarily due to age, but because of the burden of family and worry for Tyrone. When Evelyn turns her back on her passion, she accepts to sacrifice once again for her loved ones – but will that sacrifice erode the rest of her life? Or will it be the catalyst for her to find a new direction, beyond everyone’s expectations?
On the other side, love drama is stirring again. Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) invites her boyfriend George (Tony Maudsley) to lunch to rekindle their love. But George cleverly declines, using the excuse of having to clean up the funeral home. Jenny is suspicious, and decides to stop by.
The scene before her eyes makes Jenny speechless: George is having fun with Christina Midgeley (Amy Robbins). Although he hasn’t crossed the line yet, the look George gives Christina is enough to make Jenny explode with jealousy. Instead of confronting her directly, Jenny chooses to quietly leave, but it’s clear that the seeds of a love triangle have been planted.
