Emmerdale Spoiler: Robert in prison begs for forgiveness – Vic gradually wavers, suspects John of hiding secrets
While Aaron is unconscious, Robert has to go through dark days behind bars. Turned away by his family, estranged from his friends, he becomes the number one culprit.
Even Vic – his close foster sister – has cut off all contact.
However, in anger and confusion, Vic decided to visit Robert in prison.
She coldly confronts him, frankly saying that she feels contempt and disappointment.
Robert, desperate, pours out his heart to explain: “I swear to you, Vic, I never hurt Aaron. Someone else is the culprit.”
Robert’s choked voice, his eyes filled with despair, makes Vic falter. She remembers their long-standing brotherhood, remembers the bond between Robert and Aaron. Although reason still screams that he is guilty, Vic’s heart tells her that Robert may be wronged.
As she left the prison, Robert’s words haunted her: “Look at John, and you’ll understand.” Vic immediately connected the dots – John had tried to stop her from visiting Robert, John had been by Aaron’s side but his eyes were filled with uncertainty. The scattered details suddenly connected, placing John at the center of suspicion.
