Emmerdale shocked the audience when it exposed the entire sick nature of John Sugden.

Not only was he the one who killed Nate Robinson, John was also obsessed with the illusion of being a “hero”, willing to endanger others just to rush in to “save” and receive praise.

John’s list of crimes made the whole village shudder: changing Jacob’s drink to cause an allergic reaction, drugging Chas, suddenly hitting someone… all just to satisfy the desire to be praised.

And when he discovered his husband – Aaron – sleeping with Robert, John completely lost control.

In the climax, John hid in Keepers Cottage, ready with a syringe containing poison to inject Robert Sugden. The moment Robert and Victoria returned home, Harry ran in first, the audience gasped as John held the syringe tightly, waiting for the opportunity to strike. But his plans fall apart when he learns that Victoria doubts his feelings.

John leaves in a rage, but the danger remains. A killer has been exposed, but will the police catch up before he causes more tragedy?
