The October 9 episode left Days of Our Lives viewers “on the edge of their seats” when Thomas DiMera made a request that stunned Salem: he wanted Cat to leave Chad – who was a former love rival and the one Thomas had hated for many years.

It all started when Thomas discovered that Cat had impersonated Abigail DiMera to infiltrate the family and find Chad’s secret.

Betrayed, Thomas angrily went to the couple.

In the confrontation scene, Thomas shouted:

“You used the name of a dead person to get what you wanted. And you, Chad, you knew and still kept quiet?”

Chad was stunned. Cat burst into tears, trying to explain that she was only following the orders of someone else – who was manipulating the DiMera family from the shadows. But Thomas did not believe her. He throws the real Abigail’s picture on the table, saying coldly:

“I want you out of his life. If you don’t, I’ll show Salem who you are.”

After Thomas leaves, Chad hugs Cat, but the trust is broken. Cat says softly:

“If you don’t trust me… then I’ll leave.”

The scene ends with Cat dragging her suitcase out of the DiMera mansion, and Chad slumped against the window. In the darkness, Thomas smiles, but tears roll down his face – revealing that his request is not just out of hatred, but also out of… his never-ending love for Cat.
