The episode opens with a heated argument between Abe and Theo at home.

At the same time, Belle Brady discovered that her mother – Marlena Evans – had hidden a medical file in a drawer. In it, the name of the organ donor matched… a character who had died 10 years ago. Belle was stunned, suspecting that her mother had hidden a secret transplant.

When Belle confronted her mother, Marlena only vaguely replied: “Some secrets are best kept buried, my daughter.” The sentence stunned Belle – because it was not the “honest” Marlena like before. She looked at her mother and exclaimed: “What are you hiding from me? Or are you not yourself anymore?”
The final scene made the audience shiver: Marlena looked in the mirror, her eyes were hazy, her mouth had a strange smile. The background music played, suggesting that another soul existed inside her.
While Belle was confused, Theo returned to meet Tony DiMera, shook hands and cooperated – opening a new chapter in the power play.
