In the latest episode of Emmerdale, Laurel Thomas left the audience stunned when she burst into tears admitting a horrifying secret related to her adopted daughter Clemmie Reed.

It was thought that the story would just stop at small conflicts in the family, but unexpectedly, Laurel was the one who held the “sensitive” photos of Clemmie – which were being spread throughout the village!

Laurel revealed that the photos were sent to her during a period of psychological crisis for Clemmie.

“I just wanted to protect her,” Laurel said, chokingly, “but keeping quiet for too long is a sin.”

The scene closes up Laurel’s trembling face, tears falling onto the photo of her daughter, creating a painful moment that left the audience breathless.

It seemed that Laurel would be sympathized, but the truth made everyone angry. She unwittingly helped the person who leaked the photos by not reporting them to the police in the first place. Carl Reed – Clemmie’s biological father – is immediately dragged into the circle of suspicion. The already tense relationship between Laurel and Carl now breaks down, as the two continue to argue in tears. “You know I didn’t do it, so why are you silent?” Carl screams, and Laurel only responds with guilty silence.

Clemmie seems to have lost all faith. In a haunting scene, she tries to lock the door, throws the phone away, and screams: “I don’t want anyone’s pity anymore!” Laurel tries to hug her child, but Clemmie’s trembling arms push her away, as if tearing the once strong bond between mother and child apart.
