After the attack that shook Salem, EJ DiMera is back – and this time, he’s not just out for revenge, he’s out to reclaim the power he lost.

Future episodes reveal that EJ will appear weak but alert, and begin “playing the game again” with the DiMera family’s signature ruthlessness.

Upon awakening, EJ immediately calls his former assistant – demanding an investigation of everyone who was around the mansion that night.

Sarah, Paulina, and even Xander are all on the suspect list.

However, what’s shocking is that EJ suspects his own family – specifically a female character, described as “having acted out of line for power.” It could be Gabi – or Nicole, with whom he had a relationship.

When the police reopen the case, EJ uses his semi-conscious state to manipulate everyone around him. One of the most eye-catching scenes in the spoiler trailer is when EJ stands up from his hospital bed, looks straight into the mirror and says: “If they want to fight, they will fight.”

From here, Days of Our Lives will enter the “shadow revenge” phase – EJ begins spreading fake news, controlling others and even collaborating with old enemies. A source suggests that EJ will team up with Xander – something no one expected – to track down the “third person” who shot him.

The final scene predicts: EJ throws a “welcome back” party, all the main characters are present, red wine overflows, the lights are sparkling, and then… the lights go out. Gunfire rings out. When the lights come back on, a person collapses – blood falls on the DiMera marble floor. Who did it this time? And is EJ really the prey… or the ultimate predator?
