With the drama not over yet, Emmerdale continues to drop bombs when Robert Sugden is dragged into a dark blackmail case.

It all started when he received an envelope containing a photo of himself with a strange woman in a hotel room.

Robert immediately understood: someone was using the past to destroy his present.

The person behind it? Most likely Kev Townsend himself – who wanted revenge because Robert “stolen” Aaron.

Anonymous messages kept appearing: “Pay up, or everyone will know who you really are.” Robert panicked, trying to hide the matter from Aaron, but the more he hid, the more it was exposed. One night, Aaron found a strange phone in the drawer – full of threatening messages.

The climax was when Aaron threw the phone on the table, growling: “Are you hiding anything else?” Robert burst into tears: “I just want you to be safe.” But the excuses did not save anything.

The blackmailer has yet to be revealed, and the audience begins to theorize: is it Caleb Milligan – who has financial ties to Robert – who is behind it, or is it just a larger conspiracy waiting to explode?

The film ends with Robert sitting in his car, looking back at the village with a look of despair. A once confident man, now suffocated by his past.
