While the whole village is in turmoil over Bear’s disappearance, in another corner of Emmerdale, Robert Sugden does something no one expected: propose to Aaron Dingle – right in the middle of the most chaotic moment.

And Aaron said “Yes”… but the audience knows, this agreement will lead to a terrible tragedy rather than happiness.

According to Metro, Robert had planned to propose for a long time, but things did not go as “sweetly” as in a romantic movie.

In a special scene, Aaron had just argued with Liv, was about to leave the village when Robert suddenly appeared, held out the ring in front of him and said: “If you still want to leave, then come with me – forever.”

Aaron looked at Robert in confusion, tears welling up in his eyes. He nodded in a moment of emotion, not realizing that it was that “Yes” that was the spark that ignited the chain of chaos that awaited both of them.

As soon as the engagement news broke, Emmerdale began to buzz with rumours. Cain Dingle was skeptical: “Why would Robert propose now? When everything is so messed up?” Aaron’s mother, Chas, cried tears of joy and fear: she knew her son was vulnerable and Robert was never a simple man.

Spoiler: behind the proposal was a grand plan by Robert – he was preparing a shady deal that could lead to the collapse of Home Farm. And if that was revealed, both Aaron and the Dingles would be caught up in the crisis.

The climax was a scene where the two kissed in the twilight, while the soundtrack played the lyrics “It’s the end of the world as we know it…” – implicitly signaling the coming Armageddon.
