A seemingly normal morning turned into a turning point in the lives of David and Shona Platt.

The couple eagerly awaited the day of their first child’s ultrasound, filled with joy.

Shona chose a light floral dress, gently hugging her pregnant belly as a greeting to the little angel.

She texted David: “Come pick me up, I’m a little nervous.”

But David was stuck in the middle of another drama – a war of words with Kit, who was cornering him because of an old issue that had not been resolved.

As time passed, Shona sat waiting but David was still nowhere to be seen. The phone rang, it was Sarah – her close sister-in-law – offering to take her. Although shy, Shona still agreed, trying to keep her mood stable. But as the car started moving, her face showed clear disappointment. Then the shock hit. The technician stared at the screen, hesitantly saying, “I… see a lump in the baby’s neck.” The room froze. Shona forced a smile, trying to ask again, but her voice was shaky. By the time David rushed over, it was too late: Shona collapsed in his arms, tears mixed with fear. The ultrasound room light reflected off their eyes – and the audience held their breath.
