Emmerdale is going big with two special episodes that are all about flashbacks.

One about Bear Wolf, one about Robert Sugden – two men, two seemingly unrelated fates, but intertwined in the same secret.

In the first flashback episode, Bear appears in the middle of a damp forest – his face covered in wounds.

He is running away from someone, perhaps an old teammate, or someone who knew his past.

Interspersed with images of Robert in prison – cold light, footsteps echoing steadily. Both are haunted by what they once did, what they once hid.

The Emmerdale director has confirmed: “The two seemingly separate stories will intersect – and viewers will see why Bear disappeared, why Robert couldn’t sleep peacefully.”

In the final scene, Bear bends down to open a wooden box – inside is a picture of him and… Paddy as a child. Blood stains the corner of the picture. Robert, in prison, holds a newspaper clipping that reads: “Bear Wolf Missing.”
The flashback ends, and the audience shivers. Perhaps, it is only just beginning.
