When checking the security camera, they discovered a man wearing black gloves – believed to be Mark Greene – sneaking into the file room at midnight.

Following the trail, the two found a USB drive hidden in a statue in the chapel, containing data about “Project Rebirth” – the resurrection project that Rolf is conducting.

In the upcoming episode, Stephanie reads the file contents aloud in front of Alex: “EJ DiMera – the main sponsor. Mark Greene – the test subject.” The sentence left both of them speechless. Alex, who has business ties to the DiMera family, realizes he’s unwittingly abetted the plot. Stephanie, with her reporter instincts, decides to expose the truth.

But as they prepare to go public, a stranger appears, snatches the USB and threatens: “If you open your mouth again, someone will die.” The scene ends with Stephanie’s heavy breathing – the beginning of the most tense episode of the season.
