Coronation Street Spoiler: Hope Under Online Attack: Who’s Playing the Social Media Prey?
From returning to school to transitioning into a teenager, Hope Dobbs – once gentle and vulnerable – is now facing a clever social media attacker.
Spoiler alert: Hope receives a series of malicious messages like “not as good as her friends”, “almost invisible”, “who cares?”
From there, she starts to stop eating, sits quietly in her room, and steals a bottle of “miracle pills” from her mother’s salon to “save her”.
When the incident is discovered, people suspect a classmate, or even Jake Windass – but there’s a twist: the tiny person behind the screen could be… Hope’s sister Ruby.

Ruby had been talking to a friend about “hating the creeper phone” and the message had the same icon as the one Ruby sent her the day before. When Tyrone discovers the chat, everything starts to fall apart.
The hashtag “internal bullying” is all the rage: Two sisters live together, appear friendly on the outside but are in a silent war, using social media as a weapon. Hope is hurt, Ruby may be isolated, Fiz and Tyrone are terrified to learn that their children are both victims and perpetrators of suffering.

Warning: Social media is a seemingly safe place but sometimes it is a war zone. Follow, support and most of all – talk to each other. Because while one person suffers in silence, the other may have been in “takedown” mode for a long time without anyone knowing.
