After the lavish funeral, after Becky’s plotting, Megan’s guidance, Will’s trauma – Weatherfield will never be the same again.

Megan still smiles – but will that smile be shaken? Becky begins to face her actions – she may have “done” something that can’t be undone. And the big death: those left behind look at the relationship between the dead and those who continue to live – regret, resentment, the truth coming out.

I picture the scene: an evening at The Rovers, the lights dim, Will talking to his friend: “I don’t want to be seen as weak. I just want to tell the truth.” Becky walks in, sits nearby, Megan quietly leaves the bar. It feels like the three of them are in different worlds – but all affected by the same ‘incident’.

Finally: Weatherfield will start an internal investigation – people will start asking: “Why was she (Megan) welcomed?”, “Why did Becky act like that?”, “Was this death accidental or intentional?” When a series of truth bombs are dropped: the lives of the supporting characters will be disrupted, trust will be lost, and everything will be changed forever.

I believe the audience will see a ‘reveal’ scene – where Megan has to face Will or Will’s family; Becky has to pay the price; the death will be explained. And when the screen changes to the image of normal Weatherfield – the normality is gone. You will feel: “It’s not as stable as it used to be.” The Rovers, the road, the lights – all have a long feeling.
