Coronation Street Spoiler: Weatherfield chaos: Corrie suspended, but drama still not over
Corrie fans were left in a state of shock when ITV suddenly announced that Coronation Street would be suspended next week to make way for a sports special.
The news sent social media into a frenzy, as viewers were immersed in the year’s most climactic episodes.
According to Entertainment Daily, Corrie will be taken off ITV but will still be broadcast early on the ITVX platform.
Many fans joked: “As long as Costello is not dead, and Becky is not flying, Corrie being off is a crime!” – showing the terrible heat of the current series.

The production team revealed that this week’s hiatus is just “the calm before the storm”. When Corrie returns, the series will open with the appearance of Aurora Bradshaw – a brand new character, believed to be the sister of an old character in the Bradshaw family. This appearance promises to disrupt the entire power structure in Weatherfield, bringing with it secrets that have never been mentioned before.

The Corrie Twitter page was flooded with comments: “If Aurora is really Jamie Bradshaw’s sister, we’re about to have a new drama queen.”
A pause doesn’t mean the end. Corrie is just “taking a breather” to prepare for the next blow – and perhaps, when it returns, viewers will have to be ready for a twist that will turn Weatherfield upside down.
