Couple Johnny DiMera and Chanel Dupree have just welcomed their adopted son Trey home, but there are storms lurking behind the smiles.

Spoiler alert, their relationship will be seriously tested when a third person appears – and that person is none other than Wendy Shin.

Wendy, who had an ambiguous connection with Johnny in the past, will appear at the baby shower, carrying a “congratulation” gift but a cold look.

She whispers: “Congratulations, Johnny. I hope you haven’t forgotten what you promised.”

Chanel hears, but remains calm – until she discovers in Wendy’s gift bag an old photo: Johnny and Wendy hugging in Hong Kong. Drama officially explodes.

While Johnny tries to explain that it’s all in the past, Chanel bursts into tears and leaves. Sami saw this and intervened, but this action caused everyone to blame her for “adding fuel to the fire”.

The final scene could be an image of Johnny alone with the baby’s crib, his eyes reflecting both regret and doubt. Will Trey really be their “bridge”, or will it become the beginning of a new feud between the two families DiMera – Kiriakis?
