The Tom Horton Memorial Free Clinic Opening Ceremony was supposed to be a warm, solemn and family-oriented party in Salem.

But life is never smooth sailing for this town – especially when Sami Brady shows up with her familiar smile but sharp eyes.

EJ DiMera – who seemed to have prepared carefully to maintain the image of a “model donor” – stands to the side, trying to appear calm.

The ceremony was solemn. Marlena, Kayla, Abe and the Salem veterans stood in a row.

The first speeches were touching, mentioning the Horton legacy. But when the MC invited Sami to the stage, the atmosphere changed immediately. She walked slowly, the spotlight shining directly on her face, making EJ standing next to her a bit uncomfortable.

Sami started softly: “I’m so glad to be back…” But then she changed her tone, drawing everyone’s attention: “And I think Salem deserves to know the truth—especially about the people behind this project.” EJ was slightly startled. Marlena looked up—her intuition sent a chill down her spine.

The room held its breath. EJ tried to keep a smile but his grip on the microphone tightened. He knew Sami was the only one who could break through the shell he had built.

Sami continued: “We honor medical ethics. We honor honesty. But do people know who they’re trusting?” Murmurs spread across the room. Marlena looked at EJ, and Abe glanced at the board members.

EJ stepped forward, trying to help: “Sami, I think—”
But she interrupted: “No, EJ. I didn’t come here today to pick a fight. I just want Salem to know that power can’t hide the truth forever.”

Just when everyone thought Sami was about to “drop the bomb”, she suddenly changed the topic to… congratulating the opening ceremony. A perfect trick. EJ breathed a sigh of relief but his face turned pale. Sami walked off the stage, leaving him standing in the midst of hundreds of suspicious eyes.

The backstage became even more chaotic. EJ immediately called his juniors to check the Clinic’s server system: “Has anyone touched the files?” The juniors replied: “Sir, there was unauthorized access. Familiar IP.”
EJ squeezed his hand: “Sami.”

Last scene of part 1: Sami left the ceremony, got into the car, and smiled mysteriously. The phone vibrated. A message appeared: “The file you need is ready. The next step is up to you.”
Sami looked at the screen, the corner of her lips curled up: “And now it’s EJ’s turn to pay.”
