The episode opens with Marlena sitting alone in the hospital room, her hands clasping John’s necklace as if trying to find some peace amid her longing and anxiety.

Will walks in, looks at her for a long time before saying: “Mom, I’m here.” Just those two sentences are enough to make Marlena emotional.
