While the other characters are caught up in kidnappings and intrigue, Sarah Horton is facing the storm that is Xander Kiriakis.

A witness tells her: Xander has disappeared, and may have been pulled into a new criminal organization.

What terrifies Sarah is not that Xander did anything wrong — it’s that he disappeared just like Kristen.

The two events happening at the same time can’t be a coincidence.

This makes Sarah suspicious: Is Xander connected to the lab? Or was he taken away because he knew too much?

Jack and Jennifer try to comfort Sarah, but she won’t stand still. Sarah begins her own investigation, going to the place where Xander was last seen, asking a bunch of questions. The result: a torn document in his room, with three vague words “PROJECT LZ–”.

Sarah immediately understood: Xander was in the middle of a storm he couldn’t escape.

At the end of the episode, Sarah burst into tears:
“Whatever he did, I don’t want him to die…”

This was the start of the Sarah – Xander return arc. And this drama certainly won’t be letting up anytime soon.
