Coronation Street is about to enter a fiery whodunnit, and the center of the drama storm is Becky Swain, the woman “more dangerous than a Claymore mine” who has just returned but immediately caused a stir.

Since her appearance, Becky has continuously revealed her manipulative nature, threatening the police, distorting the truth and using her daughter Lisa as a tool.

It is not difficult to understand why the audience started to guess: she will die, and die soon.

Fans argue that the format of the show recently has been constantly setting up the—creating a very strong villain and then suddenly “sending him off”.

And Becky is accumulating enough combos: hatred, victims, dirty secrets and “unexploded plots”. A death will freeze the entire storyline, and open up a months-long investigation case.

The list of suspects is as long as a supermarket receipt:

1. Lisa Swain – the daughter, the one who suffered the most psychological trauma.
Lisa was controlled by Becky for so long that when she realized the truth, she had “unhealthy” eyes. Some scenes show that Lisa secretly followed her mother, read messages, recorded calls. This is a very “pre-killer” sign.

2. DI Costello – who was blatantly threatened by Becky.
Becky declared that she would “ruin his career”. A small scene shows Costello slamming the file down on the table, his jaw clenched—the type of person who is rational enough not to kill, but damaged enough to be a suspect.

3. Carla Connor – the only one who saw Becky’s true nature.
Becky accidentally touched something she shouldn’t have touched: Carla. And Carla is famous for “sticking to the end when she suspects”. Becky’s manipulation of information within the company has Carla starting to follow her closely, even the parking lot scene has a very dark tone.

4. An outsider character – possibly from the police or mafia line
Fans are starting to whisper about the possibility of a silent crossover, where a character who was once involved with Becky shows up to finish her off.

The writers are creating an “addictive, suffocating” atmosphere: every character has a reason to hate Becky, and each episode brings up little clues: erased papers, broken cameras, Becky acting mysteriously late at night. Viewers are starting to take note of every detail like they’re watching a detective movie.
