In what seemed like a peaceful week in Weatherfield, Asha Alahan is dragged back into the very thing she spent years burying: the trauma of the assault and abuse that devastated her.

And this time, things get worse when that person – Naomi – appears right in front of her, at a public event, just when Asha thought she had gotten over it all.

The professional event that Ryan Connor invited Asha to support was supposed to be Asha’s chance to shine.

But when Naomi stepped onto the stage as a guest speaker, Asha’s face froze, her whole body stiffening as if she had been pulled back into the dark room where she had once trembled in humiliation.

Naomi played the role of “successful person”, while Asha stood there, just wanting to leave the auditorium.

But the story flared up even more when Asha’s stepmother – Bernie Winter – discovered the truth. Bernie was the type of person who could “endure poverty but not humiliation”, and when she learned how much her beloved child had been hurt by this person, she immediately became angry.

The big twist happened when Bernie, in a moment of lack of control, rushed straight onto the stage, grabbed Naomi’s laptop and declared in front of the entire hall that “this person had hurt my daughter and was not worthy to stand here and talk about morality!”. The whole audience was stunned, Ryan was confused and didn’t know whether to stop him or take sides.
