Marlon chooses the “save her daughter first” path.

The two immediately fall into conflict.

Rhona explains that April is being manipulated and telling the truth is the only way to break Ray – Celia – Callum. Marlon believes that confessing now will make April a scapegoat.

One of the most impressive scenes is when they sit in the kitchen, the yellow light is low, the atmosphere is heavy. Rhona says:
“If we stay silent, we become complicit.”

Marlon responds:
“If we tell, April will lose everything.”

That moment is proof of the season’s big psychological twist.

The scarier part: Ray and Celia know Marlon is considering confessing.

Ray sends an anonymous text message to Marlon:
“Your family will be safe… if you keep your mouth shut.”

At the same time, April is increasingly uneasy. She hears her parents arguing, hears rustling at the door late at night, hears an unidentified knocking. For the first time, April says to Rhona:
“I’m afraid I’ll break up with you.”

That makes Rhona cry.
And makes Marlon even more afraid.

A dramatic scene: Marlon drives out of the village after receiving a threatening text message. He wants to run away with April. Rhona chases after him, stands in the middle of the road, blocking the car and shouting:
“Where are you going? Ray will find you! We’ll all die!”

Marlon stops the car. He burst into tears, saying:

“I don’t know what to do anymore…”

The article ends with the three of them hugging in the middle of the dark street, but the silhouette of a black car parked in the distance — most likely Ray’s men.
