Coronation Street Spoiler: CARLA – LISA: LOVE THAT HAD NOT BEEN BURNED BY THE GHOST OF AN EX
Last week on Coronation Street, the audience was still reeling from the scene where Carla Connor and Lisa Swain officially ended their relationship, which was expected to be a bright turning point in their lives.
It seemed like just a short conversation at a coffee shop, but in fact, it was a rift that lasted for many episodes, when Carla gradually felt the presence of Becky Swain – Lisa’s ex-wife – like a ghost clinging to the present, leaving Carla’s heart with no place to stand.
Although Lisa always tried to prove that the past was over, the insecurity still smoldered in Carla’s heart, and the more Becky appeared, the more Carla felt pushed out of the “safe zone” in the life of the person she loved.
The root cause does not come from a simple jealousy story, but from Becky’s return with a series of complications: instability, a history of tension in her previous marriage, and a series of lingering doubts.

Lisa herself, with a soft but responsible heart, still cannot completely ignore Becky when they still have a child together – Betsy Swain. That is what makes Carla, although she understands the reason, still feel like she is always placed in the position of “second person” in Lisa’s heart.

Even though Lisa always says “I choose you”, Carla still feels the break in the way Lisa faces Becky. It is not that love is no longer there, but that love is under too much pressure from old stories that have not been closed.
