Coronation Street Spoiler: Will runs into Megan’s arms: The night the Chariot Square hotel was smashed to pieces by his father
While the adults were busy fighting with words at the Rovers, in another corner of Weatherfield, a 16-year-old heart was racing without brakes.
Will, the lost son of the Driscoll family, found comfort not in his peers, but in Megan Walsh – his coach, his adult, and the only person who made him feel “seen”, recognized.
This age-gap relationship started with training sessions, a few words of encouragement at the right time, and seemingly harmless messages of concern, but gradually went beyond the boundaries of safety.
When Will’s birthday came, Ben and Eva – because they were too busy and also because they didn’t understand his inner world – almost missed it.
This was the perfect place for Megan to step in as “the only adult who understands me”. She suggests a “little celebration,” then takes Will to the Chariot Square Hotel, rents a room, spreads rose petals, creates a mini world where it’s just the two of them and their emotions. For Will, it’s the first time he truly feels chosen, prioritized. For the audience, it’s a red flag about power and exploitation.

Corrie doesn’t hide the discomfort of this storyline. Everything – from Megan’s precise compliments to Will’s insecurities, to her proactively setting up her own space – suggests this isn’t a teenage romance, but a twisted power relationship. Will is too young to realize it, and Megan is too aware of what she’s doing. The audience sits there wanting someone to pop this bubble before it’s too late.
