Todd Grimshaw thought he had found a peaceful place next to Theo, but unexpectedly stepped into the nightmare called “abusive boyfriend”.

The latest episodes of Coronation Street pushed this relationship to the limit of endurance when Theo’s violence no longer stopped at jealousy and cruel words, but officially escalated into a physical attack that made both fans and Weatherfield residents shudder.

The beginning of it all was a series of signs that the audience had been planted for a long time: Theo controlled Todd’s every breath, looked at his phone, felt uncomfortable when he met friends, constantly made Todd feel guilty even though he did nothing wrong.

All were sugar-coated with the words “I did it because I love you”, “I’m afraid of losing you” – the true formula of a sophisticated abuser.

Todd, whose heart had been broken many times, easily believed that this was a “love story with a little problem” but was not sober enough to realize that he was gradually losing his freedom.

The real twist came in a seemingly normal argument. With just a few words that went off the rails, Theo got so angry that he grabbed Todd and slammed him into the mirror. The image of Todd stunned, blood flowing from his forehead, the sound of broken glass… was one of the most intense scenes Corrie has broadcast recently. Without the need for a pounding soundtrack, just Todd’s heavy breathing and Theo’s cold eyes were enough to make the audience understand: the boundary had been crossed.

After that, Corrie didn’t let things “get over with it”. Theo turned to “repentance” mode: crying, hugging Todd, bandaging and apologizing, blaming the past, stress, and a traumatic childhood.
