Emmerdale Spoiler: Ruby ventured into smuggling alcohol, nearly wiping out the entire Emmerdale because of a “young” deal
Ruby Fox-Miligan was entering the “if you can’t make clean money, then play with dirty money” phase when she accidentally discovered a pile of leftover alcohol after an event that had been left in the trash.
Instead of returning or throwing it away, Ruby came up with the idea of turning that alcohol into her own gold mine.
At first, it was just a few bottles “sold to acquaintances”, but for someone who had struggled with money and respect like Ruby, the feeling of being able to create her own source of income made her addicted faster than the alcohol she was selling.
To make the deal go smoothly, Ruby brought Manpreet in as an ally.

The two accidentally became a real “partner in wine”: Ruby took care of the supply, Manpreet took advantage of his familiarity with the villagers to promote it. They started building an “underground store” in the heart of Emmerdale: no signboard, no invoice, just word of mouth that “Ruby’s wine is delicious, cheap, no need to go to the supermarket”. As the list of regulars grew longer and the cash flowed in more steadily, Ruby felt for the first time that she was truly in control of her life.

But in true Emmerdale fashion, anyone who made a killing illegally was immediately punished by the universe. Alcohol began to fall into the wrong hands. Some customers drank too much and got into accidents, leaving empty bottles from Ruby’s batch at the scene. Someone was even stopped for driving drunk, carelessly revealing where they had “bought good, cheap booze,” accidentally putting Ruby’s name on the radar of people who absolutely shouldn’t have known: the police, and worse, Celia and Ray’s gang.
