The upcoming episode promises to be one of Coronation Street’s most classic twists this year.

Abi Webster (Sally Carman) — a woman who has experienced loss and resurrection multiple times — is on the verge of discovering Carl Webster’s dark secret.

At first, Abi only suspects: Carl stays out late, his phone is always on silent, and there are “unknown” amounts of money appearing in his account.

But things get serious when she stumbles across a bank statement — in Carl’s name, but the money is transferred to a familiar name: Kevin Webster.

Abi confronts Carl, who denies it, saying it’s just a “personal matter” and has nothing to do with her. But her betrayed instincts make Abi not believe her. She starts to stalk him, and finds Carl meeting someone in an old warehouse. The sneak peek shows him handing over an envelope, whispering: “No one can know about this, understand?”.

From here, Corrie fans are divided into two camps:

One believes Carl is “playing a fool” – involved in illegal activities.

The other thinks he is secretly protecting Abi or Debbie, by hiding a more horrifying truth.

Abi is caught in a dilemma: speaking out could save others, but keeping quiet would mean betraying herself. The episode ends with her holding her phone, looking at the screen, hesitating whether to call the police or not.

This twist is considered the culmination of the Carl – Abi – Kevin storyline, which could lead to a chain reaction that will destroy all current relationships in the show. Once the truth is revealed, Coronation Street will definitely not be the same again.
