Coronation Street Spoiler: Becky accelerates her escape plan, Lisa is caught between Betsy and Carla.

If Todd’s storyline is overt violence, and Shona’s is a life-or-death struggle, then the Becky-Lisa-Carla storyline is psychologically intense: the scent of obsession, possessiveness, and the return of an ex-lover disrupting people’s lives.

Becky is increasingly revealing that she’s not here to apologize or explain, but to reclaim her family in her own way, regardless of who gets hurt.

And when Corrie hints that Becky is about to make her final move with devastating consequences, it means she’s preparing to cross the line.

The core of the drama lies with Lisa. Lisa is Carla’s lover, Betsy’s mother, and Becky’s former wife.

When Becky appears with a dangerous story of being followed and having to hide, Lisa feels both pity and caution, but is still drawn in because of her child. And Becky knows this weakness very well. Becky doesn’t need to win Carla over with love; she just needs to push Lisa into a state of guilt and responsibility, and Lisa will tie herself down.

But Carla isn’t the type to stand idly by and let Becky manipulate her. Carla sees the inconsistencies and has warned Lisa that if Becky were truly in danger, she wouldn’t have brought the risk so close to Betsy.

The problem is Lisa is caught between two conflicting emotions: on one side, her present with Carla, where she can be herself; on the other, her past with Becky, where Lisa has an old family and a child torn apart. The more she struggles, the more Becky has an excuse to push things forward.

New Year’s spoilers add fuel to the fire: Lisa says she’s ready to move to Spain with Becky, but she wants to meet Carla to talk directly, because Carla deserves to hear from Lisa.
