Bobby Carroll – the sassy and funny guy – officially said goodbye to Coronation Street this week.

But the way he left was not as gentle as some other Corrie farewells: it was full of uncertainty, melancholy, and left too many unanswered questions.

After the scandal with the Barlow family and consecutive mistakes that made him feel like he “had no place in Weatherfield”, Bobby decided to leave in silence.

He packed a few things, stood in front of No. 1 house and looked at the familiar roof one last time before turning away.

The most painful thing was that he left without daring to tell his lover Lisa. The reason? He didn’t want her to be dragged into his troubles. But when Lisa discovers Bobby is missing, she chases after him just as the taxi is about to leave the street.

The scene of Lisa running, the wind whipping her face, and Bobby looking at her with a speechless look — has Corrie fans in tears. Lisa screams:

“Who am I supposed to trust if you leave, Bobby?”
But Bobby just smiles sadly, saying he needs to leave so he doesn’t burden her.
