Carla Connor has never lived peacefully for more than a week in her life, but this time, drama falls on her head in a “double-edged sword” style: both the past comes back to life and a relative hides something dangerous.

The drama begins when Becky Swain – who Weatherfield thought had disappeared from the map – suddenly reappears.

Not only does she return, Becky even rents an apartment right next to Lisa Swain.

This immediately makes Carla upset, because she knows that Lisa and Becky used to have a complicated relationship, more tangled than silk threads, but no one says it out loud.

Lisa tried to explain with sentences that sounded… unbelievable: “I was just helping Becky clean the house,” then “I happened to run out of gas so I stopped by Carla’s house.” But Carla – who never believes in coincidences – became more and more suspicious the more she listened.

While Ryan Connor asked, Carla revealed a bit of hesitation: “I believe Lisa. But Becky… I’m not sure.” That vague statement was a clue for the audience to realize: Carla was standing on the fragile line between believing and not believing.

The secret gradually emerged when Becky admitted that if she “disappeared,” Lisa’s situation would be safer. Carla was stunned after hearing this – because if Becky was really running away from something, was Lisa helping? Or hiding a past that no one in Weatherfield knew about?

The drama climaxed when Carla told Becky directly:

“It would be better for all of us if you disappeared.”

A cold sentence, but in fact, it was Carla’s way of protecting Lisa.

But Becky looked at Carla with wet eyes, as if to say: “You don’t know anything.”
That look made the audience uncomfortable because they knew there was another layer of secret that no one had touched.
