If anyone thought one accident was enough, Corriedale proves otherwise.

While Debbie’s ordeal was still unresolved, on another road, Becky Swain – a woman with a criminal past – inadvertently created a second nightmare.

She, along with Lisa and Betsy, were fleeing from an unfinished “heist” when thick fog and torrential rain caused Becky to lose control of her car.

A fateful swerve, and their vehicle crashed into the opposite lane.

Unexpectedly, a minibus carrying guests from Debbie’s wedding was returning. The moment the two cars collided shook both Weatherfield and Emmerdale. The sound of shattering metal, screams, smoke, and fire engulfed the scene. It was a chain reaction resulting in dozens of casualties – and just the beginning of Corriedale’s “apocalypse.”

Becky awoke amidst the rubble, her face smeared with blood, surrounded by wailing sirens and flashing red and blue lights. Across the street, Lisa lay unconscious, and Betsy was nowhere to be seen. Panic spread across the screen. ITV called it “the most shocking episode of the decade.” Before viewers could recover, the next scene was even more devastating: rescuers pulling bodies from the burning cars. Grief, guilt, and fear mingled into a tragic picture no one would want to forget.
