According to exclusive information from ITV, a Coronation Street icon is returning a month earlier than expected – and the identity of the character is causing a stir on social media.

Behind-the-scenes sources have revealed that this is a female character who had a complicated relationship with the Platt family.

All signs point to Bethany Platt – Sarah’s daughter, who left the street heartbroken.

She was spotted on set, in a mysterious scene at Roy’s Rolls café, where the camera briefly panned over her familiar blonde hair.

Why is Bethany back?
