The cause of the accident is revealed: Becky, driving in a panic, tried to escape with Lisa and Betsy after receiving news that Carla had escaped from custody.

The heavy rain, limited visibility, and incessant phone calls caused Becky to lose control and crash into the moving convoy. Even more horrifying, Becky’s car triggered a chain reaction of collisions involving a minibus carrying Steve, Tracy, David, and Shona, and Debbie Webster’s car as she and Ronnie were leaving a wedding party.

Internal sources confirm at least two characters will die, but their identities remain secret. Scenes at Hotten General Hospital later reveal utter despair – Lisa slumped over the body of a loved one, Carla waking up amidst nurses, and Roy Cropper silently entering the chapel.
