In another corner of Weatherfield, the Christmas atmosphere is far from peaceful.

Debbie Webster decides to attend a small farewell party, hoping to lift her spirits.

But amidst the festivities, she receives a heart-wrenching call: Carl’s mother, Elaine, has passed away.

Debbie is completely devastated, because just hours before, she had ignored Elaine’s text, thinking she was “just complaining as usual.”

Meanwhile, Carl faces another crisis. After checking his bank account, he discovers suspicious transactions related to Debbie. Worse still, he gets drunk and texts his ex, James – and the next morning, James replies: “If you don’t want everyone to know, meet me.”

Abi is suspicious, Debbie is wracked with grief, and Carl is caught in a spiral of guilt. Fans predict tragedy will unfold in the weekend episode: either Carl confesses, or one of the three leaves Weatherfield forever.
