Coronation Street Spoiler: Todd is manipulated by Theo to the point of suffocation: George stands outside and watches with a broken heart
This week’s Todd – Theo – George storyline is dark, tense and extremely psychological.
It’s not a drama like smashing things or fighting over jealousy, but a “biting from the inside” drama, making anyone watching feel uncomfortable and pity Todd extremely.
Theo Silverton, with his polite and intelligent appearance, continues to reveal his controlling nature.
He doesn’t shout, doesn’t threaten, doesn’t use violence – but every word, every action is calculated to make Todd feel like he’s the one at fault, the one who needs to make amends, the one who has to listen to Theo.
George gradually realizes that Todd has changed: he’s less talkative, avoids his family, and is awkward when asked. Todd smiles but his eyes don’t smile. And George, with the sharpness of someone who has experienced, begins to understand that something is wrong.
A very strong scene this week: Todd and George have a light argument, but Todd suddenly bursts into tears. George hugs Todd, but at that moment Theo walks in, looks at them both with a cold gaze and whispers:
“Can’t you stand on your own without me, Todd?”
Todd immediately breaks away from George, apologizing profusely. George watches and his heart is crushed.
The next scene is even more horrifying: Theo gets angry when Todd texts George. He doesn’t yell, just sits down next to Todd and says in a soft voice:
“I only want the best. But if you keep turning to other people when you’re weak… who am I supposed to trust?”

Todd panics, apologizes and deletes the message immediately. That’s when the audience knows: Todd is being subtly controlled.
George can’t take it anymore. He goes to see Todd, suggests they go for a walk to talk things out. Todd agrees — but Theo appears from a distance and looks straight at Todd, as if to say: “Don’t go against my will.”
Todd backs away. George sees everything.
At the end of the episode, Todd sits in his room, shaking, with Theo standing right in front of the door — his gaze no longer that of a lover, but of a prisoner.
Weatherfield is about to have a big explosion — and the victim might be Todd.
