From the moment Todd fell into Theo’s spiral, the audience clearly felt the “red flags” energy flooding Theo: gentle on the outside, but every word was like a trap.

Theo isolated Todd from his friends, making him gradually believe that he had no one to rely on.

All of Todd’s complaints are turned into “over-sensitivity”, all of his discomfort is turned by Theo into Todd’s fault. This is not the loud violence, but the gnawing kind, causing the victim to collapse without knowing that he is being controlled.

The climax begins when Todd, after many attempts to retreat, is forced by Theo into terrifying situations. One of the most disturbing scenes is the moment Todd appears with blood on his body – an image that shakes the whole neighborhood. Although there is no clear explanation, viewers all know: that is when everything has gone too far. Todd is no longer just being manipulated, but may have become a direct victim of violence.

But it is that shock that opens up a moment of awakening. Todd finally realizes that if he does not break away now, he will have no way back. In a haunting episode, Todd decides to leave Theo without knowing where he will go, where he will be, or what he will face. The only thing he is sure of is: staying means killing himself slowly.
