Salem is shaken again when EJ DiMera – who is famous for his power conspiracies – suddenly reappears with a name that makes everyone shiver: Dr. Wilhelm Rolf.

In the latest preview photo series, EJ is seen introducing Rolf and a strange face – Mark Greene – as “new partners in the research project”.

But for Rolf, “research” has never been a simple matter.

According to SoapHub, Rolf was invited back to Salem by EJ to “complete an old plan”.

The mysterious laboratory was set up right in the DiMera basement, with cold blue lights, chemical fumes and nameless files. Mark, a young technician just released from prison, thought he was being “given a chance to start his life over”, but he did not know that he was about to enter a crazy game between two geniuses – and evil.

Leaked footage shows EJ entering the lab, his eyes cold, saying to Mark: “If you know what’s good for you… follow Rolf.” Meanwhile, Rolf stands behind, sneering: “Does he think you have a choice?” – a line that gives the audience goosebumps.

Things get even more complicated when Abe Carver appears, suspecting EJ is hiding something. He warns Gwen: “EJ never does anything without a motive.” But Gwen, because of old feelings, chooses to believe him. Perhaps, it is this gullibility that will make her the next victim in EJ and Rolf’s chess game.

Salem is about to burn – because when Rolf returns, it means that deadly secrets will come back to life.
