Days Of Our Lives Spoiler: EJ DiMera Panics When Memories of the Fire Return – Cat Suddenly Becomes a Ghost
Salem is immersed in a heavy atmosphere when EJ DiMera suddenly shows signs of losing control of his mind.
Sleepless nights, images of the past fire appear densely, and finally, the name “Cat” echoes in his memory like a slash through the calm shell that EJ has built up over the years.
It all started when he dreamed of a girl with dark hair, pained eyes, standing in the middle of a sea of fire.
When he woke up, EJ was covered in cold sweat, his heart was pounding chaotically, and his mind was confused between memory and reality.

EJ had long believed that he had overcome that terrible incident – the incident that almost took his life. But the more he tried to forget, the stronger the memories came back. A moment of seeing the fire in the fireplace was enough for him to imagine Cat standing next to him, calling his name in panic. The fragments of memory pieced together clearly: Cat was directly involved in the night EJ was badly burned. But was she the victim? Or the perpetrator? EJ was no longer sure.
Since then, he lived in a state of wanting to dig up and want to bury deep. He was afraid that if his memory returned completely, he would see the truth that he did not dare to face. Every time someone mentioned the past, EJ would flinch and avoid it. But Salem had no place dark enough to hide the secret. And the first person to notice that instability – was Steve Johnson.
Steve happened to witness EJ collapse in panic. EJ’s eyes were bloodshot, his mouth mumbling “What did I do that night?”. Steve immediately wondered: Who was Cat? How was the fire covered up? And what made EJ so devastated? Steve decided to open an investigation himself – without giving EJ time to think.

EJ’s mental turmoil makes him even more suspicious in the eyes of others. Many people start to piece together rumors, saying that EJ once committed an unforgivable sin – and Cat is the only witness. If true, EJ’s memory can bring back a series of old cases and destroy the image he built in Salem.
The climax is when EJ sees Cat’s face in the mirror at home. He grips the sink tightly, trembling. Cat’s eyes seem to ask him: “Why did you abandon me that night?”. EJ drops the object, his heart chokes with an unnamed feeling of guilt. From this point, EJ understands – memory is no longer something he can run away from. It will swallow him again if he continues to stay silent.
Salem is waiting for a confession. But does EJ have the courage to tell the whole truth? Or will the past with Cat drag him down into the dark abyss once again?
