Drama comes not only from power, but also from… hugs.

In the next episode, Chad DiMera will fall into a “unspeakable injustice” situation when Jennifer Horton and Thomas DiMera witness him hugging Cat Gardner – who used to pretend to be his late wife, Abigail.

Scene description: Jennifer walks through the Horton hallway, catches Chad and Cat hugging.

Cat whispers: “I have to forgive myself,” and Chad replies: “I just want you to be okay.”

But to Jennifer, it is evidence of betrayal.

A few hours later, the whole Salem is abuzz with the news: “Chad is back with the person who cheated on him?”
Thomas is angry, Jennifer bursts into tears. Chad tries to explain but is interrupted: “You say you love Abigail, but you hug the person who used to pretend to be her?”
Love, trust and pain mix together, causing Chad to face his own unforgivable mistakes.

Spoiler alert: Chad will come to Cat again, not for love but for closure – but Cat uses that moment to reignite things. Meanwhile, Jennifer comes to EJ for “advice,” which could get her caught up in the DiMera family’s larger plan.

A small misunderstanding is burning all three characters, and Chad’s promise of “I won’t hurt you” now sounds like a curse. When love and guilt collide, Salem has another broken heart.
