As Salem is in turmoil over Sophia’s disappearance, two people are completely oblivious to what’s going on – Johnny DiMera and Chanel Dupree.

They think they’re living peacefully, but they’re actually pawns in a larger conspiracy.

The episode opens with Johnny and Chanel having a good time at Sweet Bits.

They talk about their engagement plans, about their future.

But while they’re laughing and talking, a stranger sits in the corner of the bar, watching them – holding a phone to record video. When Johnny steps outside to take the call, the stranger texts: “They still don’t know anything. The plan is moving forward.”

Cut to: Johnny’s father, EJ DiMera, reading the text. He smiles knowingly: “Good. Let them live in the dark a little longer.”

Meanwhile, Chanel begins to notice something strange: she hears Sophia’s name mentioned at a DiMera Enterprises press conference, and some employees whisper that Sophia had a “dangerous” relationship with Johnny before leaving Salem. When she asks Johnny, he’s confused: “I… don’t remember. It’s just the past.”

But Johnny’s ambiguity makes Chanel suspicious: Is her fiancé hiding something bigger?

The plot climaxes when Chanel receives an anonymous package – inside is a ring engraved with the name “Sophia C.” She’s stunned. Soon after, she receives a text message:
“You don’t know him, Chanel. He ruined my life – and now it’s your turn.”
