Jonathan “Johnny” DiMera and Chanel Dupree DiMera thought their journey to parenthood would be a heartwarming experience.

But the latest spoiler has turned that dream into a nightmare: Baby Trey cries all night, refuses to breastfeed, refuses to sleep — and both Johnny and Chanel are devastated.

Chanel — who is usually strong — now sits on the floor, holding a crying Trey, her eyes dark.

Johnny runs around looking for a bottle, knocks over a box of powder, then stands there, staring at his exhausted wife.

“Johnny… I can’t take it anymore…” — Johnny says, frozen in place.

The situation gets worse when Johnny receives a call from the DiMeras: they want him back to “take care of the family.” This is what makes Chanel cry even harder — she feels Johnny is being pulled away from the little family she’s just formed.

The arrival of Cat Greene is the only light in the night. Cat has just stopped a robbery and rushed to help her friend. She picks up Trey, puts her hand on the baby’s back, and within minutes, Trey calms down. Chanel watches the scene with half joy, half… concern. That makes Cat “the person who knows Trey best,” and at the same time makes Chanel wonder: “Am I doing something wrong?”
