When EJ lost his memory, Johnny DiMera became the top target of the investigation.

No evidence, no witnesses, just because he was present at the scene the night of the shooting.

Even more heartbreaking: the person who suspected him was his father.

According to TV Fanatic, Johnny tried many times to prove his innocence, but EJ – in a panic and out of control – shouted: “It was you! You always hated me!”

The scene left viewers speechless. Johnny shed tears, only saying one sentence: “Dad will never believe me.”

In the midst of that, Chanel – Johnny’s ex-girlfriend – stood up to defend him, and the two had an emotional reunion moment. However, her actions made Paulina – Chanel’s mother – strongly oppose. Paulina was afraid that Johnny would drag her daughter into the endless DiMera family war.

The climax comes when Johnny discovers that the camera video has been edited — someone intentionally deleted the five minutes right before EJ was shot. He gives the tape to Rafe, declaring: “I will save myself.” But what Johnny doesn’t expect is — the person who edited the video is Marlena, who seemed to be on the outside.

Why did Marlena do this? Was she hiding someone? Or was she trying to protect Rachel – her young patient?
