After the identity of EJ’s shooter was revealed – it was little Rachel – Days of Our Lives continued to make the audience gasp with an unexpected twist: Kristin – Rachel’s mother – admitted to trying to hide important evidence, pushing her daughter into the position of “defendant” from an innocent victim.

The story begins with Rachel’s trial.

During the tense debate, the defense attorney discovered a blurry photo in the DiMera library – an image showing Kristin removing the memory card from the security camera the night EJ was shot.

When the prosecutor showed the photo, the whole audience stopped.

Kristin was stunned, not knowing how to react, while Rachel sat trembling next to her.

During the cross-examination, a witness, Belle – Marlena’s best friend – was called to the stand. Belle testified that she had seen Kristin sneak into the camera room, open the storage box and remove a memory card at night. “I think she wanted to protect Rachel,” Belle said, her voice trembling. The courtroom fell silent. Kristin bowed her head, tears streaming down her face.

The scene was shot in low light and the viewer’s heart pounded loudly. The camera panned to Kristin’s face as she stood in court, trembling as she admitted, “I was afraid she would get hurt more if I told her. I just wanted to protect her.” When the prosecutor questioned, “So what are you trying to cover up?” Kristin burst into tears, exclaiming, “Someone threatened me… if I didn’t help them, there would be consequences for Rachel.”

The admission was like a time bomb: not only did it turn the tide of the case, but it also raised new questions: who was “threatening Kristin”? Was there a secret outside force pulling the strings, forcing Kristin to hide and sacrifice her daughter?

Rachel, initially just a suspect, now became a double victim: convicted by the court for her actions, then hidden from her mother by her own hand. In the scene moments after the confession, Rachel burst into tears, rushed towards Kristin, rushed to hug her mother – to the angry and lonely eyes of the audience.

On the other side, EJ (the victim who was shot) was still recovering and continued to participate in the trial as the victim and the main witness. When the trial resumed, EJ was summoned to give his testimony. He looked at Kristin – the woman who not long ago was still a relative – with conflicting eyes: anger, sympathy, suspicion and pain.

The most memorable scene was when EJ asked Kristin: “Why hide? She didn’t deserve to be wronged like that.” Kristin replied hoarsely: “I was a mother… I was just trying to save my child.” Tears flowed from both sides – but in court, tears are not evidence, just a state of mind.
