This week, DOOL dropped a bombshell for long-time fans: a long-missing DiMera returns—Peter Blake.

The timing alone smells of a storm: crypts are devouring people, secret labs are under attack, internal conflict within DiMera is raging… and just then, a familiar face steps in.

DOOL didn’t bring this kind of character back for a cameo appearance.

They brought him back to plant a landmine, someone who knows too much or is crazy enough to make everything go wrong.

Alongside that is the Susan Banks plot twist with Gwen Rizczech. Susan is the kind of character who seems chaotic but has incredibly sharp intuition. When Susan decides to “turn on” Gwen, it’s usually because she senses danger and chooses to protect the person she believes is right. The problem is, Susan’s protection is rarely smooth. Just one wrong word can shatter the entire network of secrets.

This piece fits the “multi-layered drama with a shared vibe” trope: Salem is entering a whirlwind where everyone chooses sides. DiMera’s return could shift the balance of power, Susan and Gwen become locked in a family feud, and Leo becomes the key to information. And in the DOOL world, information is power. Whoever holds the right information at the right time can control the fate of others.
