While the whole town is busy talking about the wedding, Rafe Hernandez – a veteran cop and also Sami’s ex-lover – receives a secret file that makes him freeze.

The document shows that there is a human experiment program funded by the secret fund DiMera Enterprises.

The experimenter: Cat Greene.

Rafe goes to see Marlena, but is rejected: “This is a family matter, don’t interfere.”

He turns around, his eyes angry. Then, he breaks into the DiMera database, finds a video: Dante talking to EJ about “a lost contract”. He understands immediately – Dante is not just a fiancé, but a card planted to cover up the corporation’s crimes.

In a shocking scene, Rafe screams: “They’re using Cat as a guinea pig!” and throws the file to the ground. He must choose: reveal the truth, or protect the woman he once loved – Sami – from a scandal that could destroy both families?

When he decided to meet Sami, Dante was one step ahead. The clash between the two in the parking lot on a rainy night – headlights shining down, the gun in Rafe’s hand shaking. Dante sneered: “Do you really think you’re faster than me?”

The episode ends with an unknown gunshot. All of Salem wakes up in confusion: Is Rafe alive or dead? And what will Sami do when the secret is gradually revealed?
