Days Of Our Lives Spoiler: Susan catches EJ hugging Cat: DiMera Mansion explodes with a look

The atmosphere in the DiMera Mansion was already tense enough because of the crypt, disappearances, and power struggles, but it was pushed to another level when the dangerous love affair between EJ and Cat reached the point of no return.

EJ was already in a precarious state, both tired of his family and lonely in his own castle. Cat stepped in when he was most vulnerable, with her intelligence, sharpness, and a bit of mystery that was enough to make even a DiMera like EJ waver.

What EJ didn’t know – or deliberately didn’t look straight – was that Cat didn’t just appear to fill the void, but also had a plan of her own, related to the secrets hidden deep in his house.

Cat had secretly drugged EJ to have the opportunity to search the mansion, looking for papers, evidence, anything that could be used as bargaining chips later.

But the more they interact, the more the line between duty and real feelings blurs. Salem always plays a dangerous game with relationships like this: the two are both allies and potential backstabbers. A private moment in the room, the door closed, the outside sounds blocked, EJ and Cat are drawn too close to stay conscious. The words soften, the eyes deepen, the air becomes electric.

Just as they’re about to collide, the door opens. Susan stands there, eyes wide, staring at her son and Cat in a position that can’t be explained in a pure way. Cat has long been a source of discomfort for Susan, having been embroiled in drama with Chad, now appearing in EJ’s arms. This combination is, in her eyes, an upgraded version of a nightmare: a woman she doesn’t trust, causing trouble for the two most important men in the DiMera family. The way Susan looked at them wasn’t just the way a mother catches her son doing something stupid, but also the wariness of someone who’s seen too many outsiders enter the DiMera home with their own agendas.
